Have you ever heard some infomercial promise stuff that you knew it was absolutely too good to be true? When you heard these claims, how did it make you feel? Maybe you felt like, “what idiot would fall for such nonsense”. Maybe you kept watching for the shear entertainment value. Or maybe you just needed a good laugh.
What I am a about to tell you will seem too good to be true. I assure you I am not trying to insult your intelligence. All I am trying to do is awaken a powerhouse that may be laying dormant, wanting to come alive. What I am going to tell you, deep down you have been wanting to hear for a long time!
As I was in worship this morning the Holy Ghost reminded me that on this side of the resurrection, Jesus looks different than He did in the stories a lot of us grew up with in Sunday school as children. Right now I want you to stop and ask yourself what you think Jesus looks like. You may Have gotten an image in your mind of a picture your Grandma has on the wall in her house of Jesus that the back of His head is glowing like an incandescent lightbulb. Maybe you got an image of a stained glass painting in the church.
1.The Holy Ghost led me to these passages in the book of Revelation:
“and in the midst of the seven lamp stands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last…”
“And he who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like emerald.”
Mind Blown. Jesus looked nothing like I imagine when I think of Him in everyday life. Revelation paints a picture of a bona fide super hero. It doesn’t stop there!
2. Holy Ghost went on to remind me of the truth that is in the book of 1 John 4:17:
“Love has been perfected among us in this; that we may have boldness in the day of judgement; because as He is, so are we in this world.”
Not as Jesus was, as He is. This is how we are known in heaven, like it or not. This may scare you if you are afraid of an abundant supernatural life. Imagine approaching all of the situations of life having the visions of these passages seared into your heart.
3. Check out this verse from Proverbs 23:7a:
“For as he thinks in his heart so is he.”
You and the world around you can not afford for you to think a different way. Now you may think, “it sounds arrogant to think such things”. That is your religion talking, you do not have to listen to that voice! It is only arrogant, if you think you had something to do with this being the truth of your reality. Only Jesus could pull off such a scandal.
4. Romans 8:19:
“For creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.”
The world is waiting on you to know exactly what you look like and the reality of who you are. When you find out your identity in a way that no one can steal it, the creation will begin to follow as you release heaven on earth.
5. The greatest scandal of all awaits you in John 21:25, and John 14:12
“And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.”
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works that these he will do, because I go to My Father…”
As I stated earlier, we and the world can not afford one single believer in Jesus Christ to not believe these truths. If I could encourage you to do anything with this information, I would ask you to print this off or share it with every believer you know. Meditate own these truths until it begins to manifest in your lives, and go rock this world for Jesus!
After all you are to do even greater things than He did! I believe that anything less and we are falling short.
